Install Git: # zypper install git 2.) Create a folder in your home directory for your projects: $ cd /home/bill/ $ mkdir Projects $ cd Projects 3.) Make your project directory (Projects) a Git repository: $ git init 4.) Setup your username and email address that you signed up with on GitHub: $ git config --global user.name "bill" $ git config --global user.email "bill@mail.com" 5.) Clone your repository that you created on GitHub: $ git clone https://github.com/bill/myprojectrepo.git 6.) Add files to your GitHub repository: $ git add filename.txt $ git commit -m "This is where you put a message about the file your uploading." $ git push origin master These are just my notes to refresh my memory.
